Palanga Becomes Lithuania’s Hotspot for Next-Gen Energy Technologies

Creative workshops, mentoring sessions with potential business partners, investors, and energy experts, and the opportunity to develop future energy projects - all this awaits more than a dozen startups from Lithuania and Estonia at the Palanga Energy Bootcamp entrepreneurship program, taking place in Palanga on August 20–23.

This year’s participants include startups working on sustainable energy, green technologies, smart grids, energy efficiency, and e-mobility solutions.

“Lithuania is becoming not only a consumer of green innovation but also a creator. Palanga Energy Bootcamp is where ideas transform into real solutions in just a few days – and Rockit is the platform that makes it possible. The program brings together mentors from business, investment, and the public sector who share their hands-on knowledge and help startups prepare to capture investors’ attention and form partnerships that can be invaluable to their future success,” said Lina Žemaitytė-Kirkman, Head of ROCKIT.

“Energy is one of Lithuania’s strategic sectors, which is why it receives special attention, including in the field of innovation. In recent years, our country has been investing heavily in energy infrastructure, with wind farms being built and planned, and the development of solar power plants rapidly expanding. This investment is aimed at strengthening energy independence and security. However, for Lithuania to rightfully call itself a country of innovative energy, the contribution of each of us is necessary. Therefore, such entrepreneurship promotion programs are an excellent opportunity not only for innovators to showcase their potential but also to discover the energy solutions of the future,” says Vice Minister of Energy Airidas Daukšas.

“Energy innovation in Lithuania is a highly promising field with significant potential to create world-class solutions. We are among the leading countries globally already developing a complex and intelligent green energy system. We have every opportunity to serve as an example for other nations to follow. We can also demonstrate to our partners that Lithuania is a unique place to create and test energy innovations – from smart market forecasting solutions to autonomous drones that monitor infrastructure. That is why we are delighted to be part of this process and to help build a platform where the solutions of the future are born,” said Karolis Mirinavičius, Head of Innovation Development at Ignitis Group.

Taking place in the second half of August, Palanga Energy Bootcamp will feature 15 startups from Lithuania and Estonia developing advanced solutions for energy efficiency, solar energy deployment, EV charging infrastructure, predictive maintenance, and smart energy management. The innovations – from real-time consumption monitoring to automated devices and grid flexibility services – are expected to help reduce costs, optimize operations, and support the transition to sustainable energy.

More than 30 well-known and experienced experts in the fields of energy and sustainability will share their advice and insights with participants. Mentors include Jokūbas Karnauskas (BSV Ventures, Associate Partner), Algirdas Dučinskas (Ignitis Group, Head of Battery Energy Storage Program), Roberta Rudokienė (LitBAN, Executive Director), Martynas Giga (RNDV, CEO), Marijus Andrijauskas (Firstpick, Early-Stage Investor), Austė Pranckutė (Stuart Energy, Co-Founder), Pavel Petřek (Tilia Impact Ventures, General Partner), among others. Legal experts from the law firm Motieka & Audzevičius will provide consultations on patents, energy sector regulation, and other legal matters.

On the final day of the program, startups will present their ideas to representatives of business, public sector, and investors – including Firstpick, BSV Ventures, Practica Capital, Aneli Capital, LitBAN, Contrarian Ventures, and others. Some of the events will be open to anyone interested in energy innovation.

Palanga Energy Bootcamp will be held on August 20–23 in Palanga, at the 3o Out Of Office coworking space Kupeta68 (S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno g. 13, Palanga). Startups working in sustainable energy, green technologies, and other innovative fields can still register to join the program.
