ROCKIT is very happy to welcome new Head Lina Žemaitytė-Kirkman. She has a huge experience in digital banking, IT, leading teams, and business consultancy. Starting today Lina will continue focusing on the growth and leading role of ROCKIT as a Fintech and Sustainable innovation hub and community.
We invited Lina for a short interview so that you could get to know her better :)
Welcome onboard Lina! To begin with, tell us why ROCKIT? Why this challenge to take over ROCKIT’s wheel was so appealing to you?
ROCKIT’s name has been around for two years and in that time it has certainly secured its name as THE place to be for Fintechs who are changing and shaping the market rules. From the outside, it looks like an energetic and forward-going community that makes things happen and I can‘t wait to start and be a part of it. I am honored to be given this opportunity – it is certainly an offer that you do not say „no“ to!
Who can say “no” to us and to this beautiful and energetic community! :) But tell us, please, what interests you the most in the Fintech ecosystem?
There are so many! (smiles) But let’s make it simple: robotics for processes and customer service automation, open banking solutions, the rise of mobile only banks, I could go on and on :) And let‘s not forget the new “kid on the block” that is in ROCKIT‘s name now – sustainability. What does that mean for us and how will we be making a change in this area – these are the questions that I look forward to answering with the team and the community.
Lina, in the business field you are many years. Which book would you recommend to read for startup CEO and why?
The one that I just started reading myself - Michael Lenox „Can Business Save the Earth?”. This book is talking about innovation and sustainability – two topics that unite under the one roof of ROCKIT. (smiles)
Here at ROCKIT, we have a very vibrant and international community, which members love traveling the world. What is your favorite destination?
The one that I have not been to! I love exploring new places! (laughs) so please do recommend me your favourite - off the beaten track places, so I can add them to my bucket list
You mention that your favorite quote is “let’s try”! So what would you wish for yourself in this new chapter in this new “try”?
I wish to continue the great work that Šarūnė has done and build further on the solid foundation that she is leaving as her legacy. And for that, I want to thank her and wish her the best of luck in whatever lies ahead!
Last but not least. If we could pick only three words, what were they that describe you the most?
Curious, recovering perfectionist, glass half full (of wine) (laughs)
